Love, Pamela

Autor: Pamela Anderson

Love, Pamela

Autor: Pamela Anderson

Número de Páginas: 202

The actress, activist, and once infamous Playboy Playmate reclaims the narrative of her life in a memoir that defies expectation in both content and approach, blending searing prose with snippets of original poetry. In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her. Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life—and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are? Growing up on Vancouver Island, the daughter of young, wild, and unprepared parents, Pamela Anderson’s childhood was not easy, but it allowed her to create her own world—surrounded by nature and imaginary friends. When she overcame her deep shyness and grew into herself, she fell into a life on the cover of magazines, the beaches of Malibu, the sets of movies and talk shows, the arms...

Autor: Pamela Morsi

"Like Lavyrle Spencer, Pamela Morsi writes tender books about decent people struggling to find love." - Susan Elizabeth Phillips Fortysomething Ellen Jameson is currently downsizing her life, a term she prefers over ones like widowed, broke and homeless. After her husband’s untimely death, she was forced to sell his business and their family home to pay off the debt. And the changes keep on coming. Ellen’s new job at The Cowboy of Taxes has a revolving door of down-on-their-luck clients--perfect for Ellen, considering her recent experiences. In the meantime she has something of a revolving door at home, given her mother and daughter remain convinced that men will solve their money problems. Maybe I’Ll Be Cleverer Tomorrow

Autor: Pamela Bradley

Número de Páginas: 294

The train rolls slowly into the platform, and there he is the man who for over four decades I have thought of as tough and critical, a man who could impale me with a few carefully chosen words. As I alight and walk towards him, I wonder what the hell the next few days will bring. When Pamela Bradley stepped off the train in Murwillumbah to visit her father, who at seventy-eight had chosen to live a solitary life Up North far from his family, she had no idea she was at the beginning of an intensely emotional journey. Faced with his slow decline, she set out to delve into his past to find those influences that might have shaped his character and helped to define her own, discovering much along the way that came as a complete surprise. In Maybe Ill Be Cleverer Tomorrow, Bradley shares an honest and personal memoir told with insight, humour and tenderness as she seamlessly moves between past and present. Throughout the story, she weaves some of the vital issues about loss, ageing and death that affect everyone, while the vignettes of a childhood and adolescence in the 1940s, 50s and 60s offer glimpses into an Australia that has long since disappeared.

Pamela -

Autor: Samuel Richardson

Número de Páginas: 618

Volume 2 of Richardson's classic Pamela. One of the most spectacular successes of the burgeoning literary marketplace of eighteeent-century London, Pamela also marked a defining moment in the emergence of the modern novel. In the words of one contemporary, it divided the world 'into two different Parties, Pamelists and Antipamelists', even eclipsing the sensational factional politics of the day. Preached up for its morality, and denounced as pornography in disguise, it vividly describes a young servant's long resistance to the attempts of her predatory master to seduce her. Written in the voice of its low-born heroine, but by a printer who fifteen years earlier had narrowly escaped imprisonment for the seditious output of his press, Pamela is not only a work of pioneering psychological complexity, but also a compelling and provocative study of power and its abuse.

The Varnished Untruth

Autor: Pamela Stephenson

Número de Páginas: 320

Along with my own personal story, I am going to write down a few things that may amuse you (or even take you down some other emotional path) and I'll let you in on a few so-far-unrevealed aspects of my life. I'll try to leave out the boring bits. Don't be thinking this is easy for me. I'm darn good at getting under other people's skin, but opening up about my own life is quite a different matter. So how shall I portray myself? There are choices, you know: Wife, mother, psychologist, writer, comedian, actor, dancer, diver, gypsy, dreamer, rich girl, poor girl, beggar girl, thief. I am all of those and more. Tell you what, you decide. You decide exactly what I am… A complicated childhood in Australia, a bold move to London, being a woman in a man's world on Not the Nine O'Clock News, becoming Mrs Billy Connolly, motherhood, career changes and then Strictly Come Dancing - told in her own inimitable style, The Varnished Untruthis Pamela Stephenson's own story.

Misled

Autor: Pamela Hardin

Número de Páginas: 158

Misled was inspired by a few people that have come along in my lifetime and some that were just passing through. The term misled is to deceive, throw of the scent, put on the wrong track, and take for a ride, which Charlie experiences everyone in his journey to find real happiness and meaning in life. Charlie takes off to clear his head, but his adventure soon turns into a flat-out nightmare at every turn. Charlie takes the ride, is put on the wrong track, is deceived more times than he cares to count, and finally is just flat-out annihilated. Charlie has a big heart that has been broken too many times but still moves on—a beautiful man with a caring and beautiful soul that seems to pick the wrong women.

Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded is an epistolary novel by English writer Samuel Richardson, first published in 1740. Richardson named his herione pamela from one of the characters from Philip Sidney' Arcadia. It tells the story of a beautiful 15-year-old maidservant named Pamela Andrews, whose country landowner master, Mr. B, makes unwanted and inappropriate advances towards her after the death of his mother. After Mr. B attempts unsuccessfully to seduce and rape her multiple times, he eventually rewards her virtue when he sincerely proposes an equitable marriage to her. Pamela, who is emotionally fragile and confused by Mr. B's manipulation, accepts his proposal. In the novel's second part, Pamela marries Mr. B and tries to acclimatize to upper-class society. The story, a best-seller of its time, was very widely read but was also criticized for its perceived licentiousness and glorification of abuse.
